Nevada Game Notes
Air Force Game Notes

Following an exciting weekend of home soccer that featured a pair of wins and a flurry of goals, Nevada will open Mountain West action against Colorado College and Air Force.

Nevada swept the weekend after earning a 1-0 win against Sacramento State and a 3-2 thriller versus Hawaii to wrap up nonconference play. You could call the Hawaii match an offensive explosion for the Pack, who hadn't scored three goals or more since early in the 2013 campaign.

Colorado College, now in its second year as an affiliate member of the MW, was picked to finish second in the preseason poll but have struggled during nonconference play. The Tigers are 2-6-1 entering the weekend and have scored just as many goals as the Wolf Pack with seven.

Air Force, another team near the bottom of the current league standings, enters the weekend at 2-6-0 and have lost four straight matches.

BONUS SOCCER
If there has been on particular trend thus far into the season, it's that the Wolf Pack likes to get its money's worth. Through eight games, Nevada has sent five of them into overtime, and two of those five have gone into double overtime. The single season program record for overtime games is seven, which was set by the 2010 squad.

D-FENCE
The Nevada offense has struggled to put shots into the back of the net in most contests, but the Pack are in every single game thanks to the work of the back line and goalkeeper Kelsey Quintos. All of Nevada's matches thus far have been one-goal affairs.

As a team, the Wolf Pack ranks in the top-100 in the nation and is third in the conference in both goals against average (0.94) and save percentage (.810). Individually, Quintos ranks second in the league in GAA (.944) and is fourth in save percentage (.800).

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
There were many firsts over the weekend for a few members of the Wolf Pack. Freshman Hannah Wuensche notched her first collegiate goal and assist between the two games, both of which came on game-winners. Playing in her first full season, redshirt freshman Nikki Mitsuyasu also recorded her first career goal against Hawaii, which then put the Pack ahead 2-1 in the game. Junior defender Brianna Bosson headed home her first career goal as well, getting Nevada on the board in the first half.
