RENO, Nev. - Senior running back Don Jackson has been selected to his second preseason watch list this week, this time for the prestigious Doak Walker Award, the PwC SMU Athletic Forum announced on Thursday. The Doak Walker Award is given annually to the nation's top running back.

Jackson led the Wolf Pack backfield last season after rushing for 957 yards on 216 carries with seven touchdowns. The Sacramento, Calif., native finished last season ranked 10th in the Mountain West with 73.6 yards per game and his 957 yards on the ground was good enough for eighth in the conference. Jackson's performance, which included five 100-yard rushing efforts, helped propel a rushing offense that ranked fifth in the MW and in the top-40 nationally. Coming out of the backfield, Jackson caught 13 balls for 157 yards and a touchdown while also owning a season-long 66 yard reception in a win over BYU on Oct. 18.

Jackson is one of five backs from the MW on the list comprised of 69 student-athletes.

Jackson and the Wolf Pack open the 2015 season on Thursday, Sept. 3, against UC Davis at Mackay Stadium. Kickoff time is to be announced. For ticket information, call (775) 348-PACK to purchase or register online at NevadaWolfPack.com.
