RENO, Nev. -- The 26th-ranked Nevada baseball team was dominant Friday in a 12-1 rout of UNLV, out-hitting its rivals, 17-3, in front of 1,081 fans at Peccole Park. The Wolf Pack scored runs in six-of-eight innings while junior LHP Christian Stolo and sophomore RHP Evan McMahan combined for a three-hitter in the victory.

The Wolf Pack turned in a complete performance with no errors, seven multi-hit efforts and stellar pitching. Stolo improved to 3-1 on the hill and McMahan tallied his first save of the season. Nevada's three allowed hits were its fewest of the season.

Nevada improves to 25-6 overall and 16-1 at Peccole Park. With an 11-3 conference record, the Pack remain tied atop the Mountain West standings with San Diego State. Nevada will go for the sweep Saturday with first pitch set for 1 p.m. PT at Peccole.

"I'm a baseball coach and I'm in to good baseball, and in all phases that was good baseball from our guys tonight," said head coach Jay Johnson. "We took good at bats, ran the bases aggressively and played really good defense. Stolo and McMahan were fantastic for us."

After a scoreless first inning, freshman Jordan Pearce doubled down the line to score senior Kewby Meyer in the second frame to plate the first run. The Rebels scored their lone run in the third with a bases-loaded walk before junior Ryan Howell hit an RBI triple to reclaim the Pack lead in the bottom half of the inning.

Junior Bryce Greager hit an RBI double before scoring on senior Jordan Devencenzi's suicide squeeze in the fourth, expanding the lead to 4-1. Pearce tallied another RBI double in the fifth. Freshman Cal Stevenson stole home when senior Austin Byler was caught in a pickle and sophomore Trenton Brooks hit an RBI double as Nevada led, 7-1, through six.

The Wolf Pack put the game out of reach with five runs on five hits in the eighth, reaching double figure scoring for the eighth time this season. Howell opened with a two-run homer to left, center, becoming the fourth player in Division I to reach double-digit home runs this season. Greager hit an RBI single and Devencenzi plated two runs with a double down the line to cap Nevada's 12-run effort.

Stolo pitched six full innings, allowing two hits and one run with six strikeouts. The local product improved to 3-1 while lowering his ERA to 2.52. McMahan allowed just two base runners in the final three innings to earn his first save of the year. The six-foot righty lowered his ERA to 1.61.

The Pack offense generated 12 runs on 17 hits, led by Meyer's 4-of-5 effort and three runs scored. Meyer, Stevenson (2-of-5), Howell (2-of-5), Brooks (2-of-5), Greager (3-of-4), Pearce (2-of-3) and Devencenzi (2-of-5) each turned in multi-hit efforts. Howell plated four runs, improving his season RBI total to 46 -- which is currently tied for the NCAA lead.

The Rebels (12-17, 2-12) were held to three hits while using four pitcher in the loss.

The series finale between the Wolf Pack and Rebels is set for 1 p.m. PT, Saturday at Peccole Park.
