ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- University of Nevada senior Moez Chargui was named Mountain West Co-Player of the Year.Ā  Chargui shared the honor with junior Freddy Gelbrich of San Diego State. It is the second year in a row a Wolf Pack men's tennis player was named the MW Player of the Year as Victor Ouvrard earned the honors last season.Ā  It was the second year in a row that Chargui was named to the All-MW team.

Chargui posted a 17-13 record this season and went 10-11 in doubles competition.Ā  His 70 career wins is tied with Ouvrard (2010-14) for second most in school history.Ā  Laurent Garcin (2007-10) holds the record with 72 career victories.

The Pack face Utah State on Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. PT in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Mountain West Men's Tennis Championship.Ā  The championship is being hosted by the University of New Mexico at the McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium in Albuquerque, N.M. April 23-26.

Utah State and Nevada met in Reno on April 12 with the Aggies winning 4-1 at Caughlin Club.Ā  The Pack enter Thursday's match with a 7-15 overall record and went 1-6 in MW play this season.Ā  Utah State is 17-8 on the season and 5-2 in conference action.
