RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. -- Fresh off its first team win since 2006, the Nevada women's golf team will compete for the Mountain West Championship beginning Monday in Southern California.

The 2015 Mountain West Women's Golf Championship will be played on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club (par 72, 6,291 yards). It is the third straight year the tournament will be held at Mission Hills. All nine Mountain West teams will participate in the 54-hole championship. 18 holes will be played each day (Monday-Wednesday), with tee times beginning at 7 a.m. PT.

Nevada's quintet is made up of Nikki Prichard, Bethany Wurster, Caryn Khoo, Jordan Keyser and Celyn Khoo. The team is coming off a resounding victory at the Cowgirl Classic in Arizona two weeks ago.

"I think the team is still riding the high of the win," second-year coach Kathleen Takaishi said. "They have truly come together as a team and that has been awesome to see. We have had a great week and a half of practice and our practices have been very focused and centered around what each individual needs to work on. They are definitely still hungry and have realized that their hard work has paid off. Our motto going into the tournament is `Why not us?'"

Nevada will be grouped with Fresno State and UNLV in the first round on Monday. Live scoring for the tournament is available via GolfStat.com

Last year, Nevada was seventh at the MW Championships with Prichard and Caryn Khoo recording top-20 finishes. Two years ago, Prichard was leading the event after 36 holes and finished in fourth place overall.

"Our gameplan is to play to our strengths, minimize mistakes and take advantage of birdie opportunities," Takaishi said. "We have been talking a lot about committing to the process, taking one shot at a time and paying attention to only the things we have control over. We are definitely excited to compete this week."

Following Monday's opening round, the teams will play 18 holes on Tuesday and conclude with the final round on Wednesday.

NCAA Regionals begin May 7.
