RENO, Nev. (AP)- AJ West scored 17 points - 13 of which came from the free throw line - and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Nevada to a 62-51 victory over San Jose State on Saturday, snapping the Wolf Pack's three-game losing skid and extending the Spartans' to 18 straight.
It was West's 15th double-double of the season, ranking him second in the Mountain West and 18th in the nation. Tyron Criswell added 15 points and 11 boards for Nevada (9-19, 5-11 Mountain West), which shot only 33.3 percent from the field but hit 34 of 47 at the free throw line.
Nevada led by just two, 50-48, with five minutes left, but ended the game on a 12-3 run, highlighted by six straight West free throws and a D.J. Fenner jam. Jaleel Williams scored 21 for the Spartans (2-26, 0-16), which has lost 14 of 15 to the Wolf Pack.

Nevada is 9-19 overall and 5-11 in Mountain West play after defeating San Jose State University 62-51 (2-25, 0-16 MW) today.
The Wolf Pack hosts Colorado State (24-5, 11-5 MW) on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. in the final home game of the season.
The win snapped a three-game losing skid.
Nevada won both meetings with the Spartans this season.
For just the second time this year with both times coming against SJSU the Pack did not make a 3-pointer missing all eight attempts.
Junior forward AJ West tied the Nevada record with 20 attempted free throws. Hugh Gallagher vs. Sac State on Feb. 20, 1968 and Garry Hill-Thomas vs. Cal State Northridge on Nov. 17, 2001 also attempted 20 free throws.
West made a career-high 13 of his 20 free throw attempts. In the last two games he has attempted 35 free throws and made 18.
West set the MW record for career offensive rebounds in conference play with his 180th tonight. His 108 this season in MW play is also the conference single season record. Boise State's Ryan Watkins held both records.
West posted his 15th double-double of the season finishing with 17 points and 10 rebounds. He has 11 double-doubles in 16 MW games.
West has led the Pack in scoring a team-high nine times this season.
For just the second time this season West did not block a shot.
Junior guard Tyron Criswell posted his first double-double at Nevada scoring 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. The 11 rebounds is his season and joins West as the only Pack players with a double figure rebound game.
Sophomore D.J. Fenner netted 13 points and has scored in double figures in the last three games.
Nevada won the rebounding battle for the 18th time this season.
Head coach David Carter is now 98-94 in his sixth season at Nevada and 18-32 in his third season of MW play.
