PALM DESERT, Calif. - The Nevada men's golf team is tied for ninth place out of 24 teams heading into the final round of the Wyoming Cowboy Desert Intercollegiate at the Classic Club course.

The Wolf Pack carded a 300 in Saturday's second round, eight shots off the pace of its first-round total but low enough to remain in the same position as it was heading into the day.

Junior Kit Carson followed Friday's 73 with an even-par 72 on Saturday and sits in a tie for 18th place going into the final round. Sophomore Nick Fuller is four shots back of Carson and tied for 44th with Grant Booth falling back to 63rd after a 79 on Saturday. Senior Nicholas Smits rebounded with a 73 on Saturday and he's tied for 80th along with freshman Jooho Lee.

No. 15 Texas Tech leads the way at 13 under through 36 holes. TCU is second at 4 under and the only other team under par. Nevada is 11 shots back of third place and is 16 over for the tournament. Texas Tech's Clement Sordet is 10 under heading into the final round and has a six-shot lead.

The final round of the event is Sunday.
