WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Sophomore Eric Cooper Jr. had a team-high 16 points on 3-of-6 shooting from 3-point land and Marqueze Coleman added 10 but the Nevada men's basketball team dropped a road contest to Wichita State, 98-69, on Tuesday evening.

The Wolf Pack was outrebounded for the first time this season and converted 21 of 31 free throws. For Cooper, it was his fifth-consecutive game scoring in double-figures.

A 3-ball from junior D.J. Fenner with 2:17 left in the first half cut the Wolf Pack deficit to nine, 37-28, before the Shockers rattled off a 7-1 run to give themselves its largest lead of the game heading into halftime, 44-29.

After Wichita State scored a quick bucket to kick off the scoring in the second stanza, a jumper from freshman Cameron Oliver, which accounted for two of his nine points in the half, was followed by two Coleman free throws that cut the Pack's deficit to 13, 46-33, with 17:21 to play. But the Shockers proceeded to go on a 13-2 run, with eight points coming from Ron Baker, that put them up 49-35.

Baker scored 17 points and Wichita State set a school record with 44 made free throws. The Shockers were 44 of 62 from the stripe (71 percent), including John Robert Simon's record-setting make with 44 seconds left.
