KINGMAN, Ariz. – Desirae Gonzalez, who signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Nevada women’s basketball team beginning next fall, added Student Rotarian to her growing list of accomplishments.

Gonzalez was selected as the first Student Rotarian from Kingman High School for the 2015-16 academic year by the Kingman Rotary Club. The 5-11 three-point specialist was selected because of she excels in three areas; in the classroom, on the court and in the community. Gonzalez is a member of a number of clubs and organizations including the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Key Club and Letter Girls Club.

Apart from just being a member of these clubs and organizations, Gonzalez has added many accolades which include FBLA region and public speaking champion, four years on the honor roll, science student of the year, along with her many athletic accomplishments.

Through 14 games in her senior season at Kingman High School, Gonzalez is averaging nearly 30 points per game and more than 10 rebounds per contest. She has scored 30 points or more in six of 14 games, including three 40-point performances and a season-high 43-point outing where she made 19 field goals.

Over the course of her high school career, Gonzalez has collected a slew of accolades including first team all-county, first team all-region, first team all-area, first team all-state, first team all-division, was an underclassman all-star, named the Superior Tire Player of the Year and is a two-time Division II Section I Player of the Year.
