RENO, Nev. (AP) Marqueze Coleman scored 21 points with six assists and four rebounds as Nevada beat Portland State 76-73 Wednesday night.
Eric Cooper Jr.'s 3 off an assist from Coleman with 2:37 to play gave the Wolfpack the lead for good at 70-67. Isaiah Pineiro made 1 of 2 free throws to cut the lead to two.
Nevada's D.J. Fenner - off another assist from Coleman - hit a jumper to move the lead to 72-68. Cameron Forte made a layup to make it 72-70, but Coleman's 3 with 32 seconds left sealed the game.
Nevada (4-1) got 16 points from AJ West with eight rebounds and Fenner finished with 12 points and five rebounds.
Portland State (2-2) was led by Forte's 23 points and nine rebounds. Pineiro and Calaen Robinson each had 13 points. Pineiro had a double-double with 11 boards.

• Nevada improved to 4-1 with a 76-73 victory at home over Portland State (2-2) tonight.
• Nevada returns to the road to play its fifth game away from Reno in the first six of the season at Cal State Fullerton on Saturday at 6 p.m. PT. The game will be streamed on BigWest.TV and can be heard on 630 AM in Reno.
• Tonight's win was the first home game of the season and the first win for first-year head coach Eric Musselman at Lawlor Events Center.
• The 4-1 start equals the best start for a first-year Wolf Pack head coach since Nevada moved to NCAA I in 1969-70. Mark Fox (2004-05) also started his career at Nevada going 4-1 but did not post a 5-1 start.
• The 2004-05 season is also the last time Nevada started the year 4-1.
• Nevada had its fourth different starting lineup in five games this season.
• Junior Kaileb Rodriguez made his first start of the season and 10th of his career.
• Senior Marquez Coleman led the Pack in scoring for the fourth consecutive game finishing with 21 points. Coleman score 12 in the second half.
• Coleman has scored in double figures in all five games and scored 20 or more in the last four.
• Coleman scored in double figures for the 30th time in his career.
• Senior forward AJ West came off the bench for the first time this year to score a season-high 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
• West's eight rebounds was a team best and marked the fourth time this season and 38th time in his career he topped the team in rebounds.
• West scored in double figures for the 33rd time at Nevada.
• Junior D.J. Fenner finished with 12 points and has tallied double figures in all five games this season. It was Fenner's 17th career double figure scoring game.
• Eric Cooper, Jr. was the fourth Nevada player in double figures with 11 points on the night. Cooper has scored in double figures twice this season and 11 times in his career.
• Nevada outrebound PSU 42-40 and had outrebounded its opponent in every game this season.
• Nevada won the rebounding battle 61-55 and has outrebound opponents in every game this season.
• Tonight was the first time a Nevada player did not post the game high rebounds and did not have a double figure rebounder.
• The PSU games is the third time the Pack had four players score in double figures. Versus Montana State five players reached double figures.
