RENO, Nev. - Nevada women's basketball coach Jane Albright announced today that senior forward Julia Shelbourn will undergo season-ending surgery on her right knee.
"This is a tough one with Julia being a starter in her senior year and being one of our captains," said Albright. "Just like what happened with T Moe though it's out of our hands and we will keep pushing forward."
Shelbourn, a senior captain and starter, sustained an injury during last Sunday's home contest against Montana State early in the first quarter. This is the first injury of Shelbourn's college career. To date, she has seen time in nearly 100 games throughout her collegiate career.
