BOISE, Idaho - Senior Sam Willoughby hit .333 with two blocks but it wasn't enough as the Nevada volleyball team were topped by Boise State (20-7. 12-3 MW), 3-0, on Saturday evening. The Wolf Pack (11-17, 6-10 MW) were held two just two service aces, a category that they top the Mountain West in.
Junior Madison Morell led the first set off with a kill that gave Nevada an early 1-0 lead but the Broncos used a 4-0 to take its first advantage of the match. Three-consecutive points brought Nevada within 24-18 but it was too late as the Broncos took a 1-0 lead in the match.
Nevada fought back with in the second set where there were 11 ties. A kill from freshman Peighton De Von put the Pack up 4-3 and a kill from sophomore Madison Foley made it 5-4. A BSU service error made it 8-7 Nevada but the Broncos would create separation and come back to take the next two sets to win it 3-0.
The Pack will be back in action for senior night on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. against San Jose State. It will be the final home match at the Virginia Street Gym for seniors Kara Kasser, Sommer King, Taylar Rothfuss and Sam Willoughby.
