RENO, Nev. - The Nevada women's basketball team is set to begin official practices Monday afternoon in preparation for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
At the helm of the program for her eighth season is head coach Jane Albright, who will be embarking on her 32nd year as a NCAA head coach. Albright is approaching a couple of milestones as the season gets underway as she is just one win shy of reaching 100 victories at Nevada and is four wins shy of 500 victories for her career. She ranks 30th among active women's basketball coaches at the Division I level in career wins.
Albright and her staff, which has a few new faces as well, returns eight student-athletes from last year's squad and welcomes six newcomers. Among those returning will be junior point guard T Moe, who suffered a season-ending injury in the fourth game last year. Prior to her injury, Moe had recorded the program's first triple-double during the season-opening win against UC Santa Barbara.
In addition to the eight returners and six newcomers, sophomore Halie Bergman and redshirt freshman AJ Cephas will be available, bringing the total roster number to 16. Bergman, a transfer from Pacific, will be eligible to play this season after sitting out last year due to NCAA transfer rules, while Cephas redshirted her first year.
The Wolf Pack will get a good look at everything in game action with an exhibition contest on Nov. 7 at Lawlor Events Center against Chico State. The regular season begins the following Friday, Nov. 13 as the Pack takes on San Diego at 6:30 p.m.
Season tickets for women's basketball are just $60 for adults, $55 for youth (8th grade and under) and $40 for seniors (65+). A 'Family 4-Pack' is also available that includes four season tickets for just $99! Call 775.348.PACK or register online for more information.
