SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Nevada soccer team closed out its road trip Sunday afternoon with a 4-0 setback at San Diego State.

The Aztecs (7-4-0, 3-1-0 MW), who are the three-time defending champions in the Mountain West, scored one of their four goals in the opening half and put three in the back of the net in the second half. Entering Sunday's contest, the Aztecs were tied for the league lead in goals scored.

SDSU opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Angela Mitchell broke past the Wolf Pack (3-7-2, 0-3-1 MW) defense and trickled in a shot that rolled just over the goal line. The Nevada offense had its chances in the first half, posting six shots and four of those had to be stopped by the Aztecs' goalkeeper Melanie Vaughn.

It was all San Diego State however in the second half as the Aztecs defense stood tall and did not allow the Pack to register a shot or a corner kick. SDSU got the rest of its goals in the 62nd minute, 72nd minute and in the final minute of the match.

The Aztecs outshot the Wolf Pack by a 22-9 margin and held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks. Vaughn stopped a total of four shots, while Nevada goalkeeper Kelsey Quintos saved seven.

Nevada returns to Mackay Stadium this weekend to begin a four-game homestand. Those four games will mark the end of the home schedule for the Wolf Pack.
