RENO, Nev. - Junior punter Alex Boy has been tabbed as a candidate for the prestigious Ray Guy Award, given annually to the best punter in the nation, the Augusta Sports Council announced on Friday. Boy is one of six Mountain West Punters to make the list and semifinalists will be named on Nov. 13.

A 2015 Preseason All-Mountain West selection, Boy currently ranks fourth in the MW and 32nd in the country in punting with 43.8 yards per punt. The Long Beach, Calif., native has set career-highs this season with 376 punting yards in week two against Arizona and a career-long 68 yard punt at Texas A&M on Sept. 18.

Boy solidified himself as one of the top punters in the nation in 2014 after finishing 12th in the FBS and first in the conference with 44.3 yards per punt, numbers that earned him Second Team All-MW accolades.

In the record books, Boy is in sole possession of eighth on the all-time punting yards chart with 4,496. Last season, his first campaign as a collegiate punter, Boy's 44.3 yards per punt ranked fifth in a single-season all-time while his 55.5 yards per punt against Air Force was the third most in a game in program history.

Boy and Wolf Pack will be back in action on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at Fresno State.
