UC Davis Invitational Results Get Acrobat Reader

DAVIS, Calif. -In the first event of the season University of Nevada senior Ryan Andrada has advance to the quarterfinals in the men's A singles at the UC Davis Invitational. The invitational continues tomorrow and Sunday.

Andrada received a bye then defeated San Francisco's woravin kumthonkittikul 6-3, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals. He will play Sacramento State's Kasparas Zemaitelis on Saturday with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

Senior Andrew Poustie defeated Stanford's Roy Lederman 6-3, 6-2 in the round of 32 but lost to the top seed in Cal's Mads Engsted in three sets, 2-6, 6-3 and 6-4 in the round of 16.

Sophomore Robert Margitfalvi downed Pacific's Alex Giannini 7-6 and 7-5 in the round of 32. The third seeded Anthony Tsodikov of Stanford needed three sets to knock of Margitfalvi 6-2, 5-7 and 6-2 to advance in the round of 16.

Freshman Jonathan Aremon lost his first collegiate match 6-3 and 6-2 to Stanford's Brandon Sutter in the round of 32.

In the men's B singles sophomore Mile Cilic lost in three sets, 7-6, 5-7 and 6-2 to Pacific's Bernardo Oliver. Sophomore Peter O'Donovan fell in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3 to Connor Garnett of Santa Clara.

Freshman Aaron Breust was forced to withdraw with an injury in his round of 32 match.

Both of Nevada's double teams in the A draw lost on Friday. Breust and Poustie fell 8-7 to Stanford's squad. Andrada and Aremon fell to the San Francisco team 8-6.

The Pack's B doubles team both received a bye and will take to the court on Saturday.
