RENO, Nev. - Junior Madison Morell tallied her second 20-plus kill performance of the season and sophomore Madison Foley registered her sixth double-double on Saturday afternoon in the Nevada volleyball team's 3-0 victory over Utah State at the Virginia Street Gym.

Foley posted 10 kills and 10 digs while senior Sam Willoughby also had 10 kills to go along with a .500 hitting percentage. Senior Taylar Rothfuss added 44 assists and two aces for Nevada (8-12, 3-5 MW). The Wolf Pack out-served, 6-1, and out-hit its opponent, .321 to .172.

Despite only hitting .206 in the first set, the Wolf Pack held Utah State to a .120 hitting percentage. With the score tied at 16-16, an Aggie error followed by kills from junior Kathryn Groenweghe and Foley made it 19-16 in favor of the Pack. Utah State would get to within one, 19-18, but Nevada used a 6-0 run that saw two kills from Groenweghe that lifted the Pack to a 25-19 first set victory.

The second set was all Nevada as Morell posted 10 of her 20 kills in the second frame. As a team in the second, the Wolf Pack hit at a .429 clip.

With the score knotted up at 11-11 in the third set, Groenweghe again sparked a big run that put the Pack up 16-11. Nevada's lead stayed at five, 20-15, after a kill from Willoughby and the Aggies would not get closer than four as the Pack closed out the set, 25-19, and the sweep.

Nevada continues its four-match homestand on Thursday, Oct. 22, when the Pack takes on New Mexico at 6:30 p.m.
