RENO, Nev. - The Nevada soccer team dropped a 3-1 contest to visiting Boise State Sunday afternoon at Mackay Stadium in Mountain West action.

Coming off of a 3-1 win of its own Friday night against Utah State, the Wolf Pack (4-8-2, 1-4-1 MW) ran into a tough opponent in the Broncos (5-7-3, 3-3-0 MW), and more specifically BSU forward Brooke Heidemann. Heidemann scored two of the three Boise State goals on Sunday, capping off a seven-point weekend for the senior.

Heidemann opened the scoring in the 34th minute, poking the ball up and over the head of Nevada goalkeeper Kelsey Quintos. Offensively that would be the only strike for the Broncos in the first half but their defense stood tall, not allowing the Pack to register a shot attempt.

51 seconds into the start of period two Heidemann struck again with another unassisted tally, this time taking an open shot from about 20 yards out that sailed over the outstretched arm of Quintos. That put the Broncos ahead 2-0 with still much of the second half to be played.

Nevada was able to cut its deficit in half in the 65th minute thanks to a goal from senior Lindsey Salcido. After a foul on the Broncos, Salcido lined up to take the free kick from the near side of the pitch at the 15 yard line. A rocket shot off of her right foot sailed high into the back of the net for her fifth goal of the season. Salcido's five goals ties her for seventh all-time in the single-season record book and her 13 points ties her for eighth.

With the Wolf Pack on the comeback trail fighting for a chance to find the tying goal, Boise State added an insurance marker with under 10 minutes to play. Kelsey Nicassio sent a one-touch pass towards the net and the ball rolled in off the save attempt by Quintos, ultimately sealing the win for the Broncos.

Nevada will host its final set of home games next weekend with Colorado State on Friday and Wyoming on Sunday where it will honor its four seniors.
