Eugene, Oreg. - The University of Nevada men's tennis team fell to The University of Oregon, by a score of 6-1 on Saturday evening, giving the Ducks a 6-1 overall record. The Pack is now 0-2 on the season, and as they head home to Reno.
In singles action, Senior
Moez Chargui shined on the day for the Pack as he defeated the Ducks Kevin Farin, by a score of 5-7, 6-0, 6-3.
Andrew Poustie was defeated by Daan Maasland for the second time, by a score of 6-2, 6-3.
Fernando Sunago went up against Jayson Amos, but came short, by a score of 7-6(4), 6-4.
Ryan Andrada got to face Daniel Sardu, but was overcome by tough back a forth score of 7-5, 1-6, 6-0. Junior leader,
Robert Allan had a tough loss against Simon Stevens. Allan battled but came up short, by a score of 6-4, 6-4 to Stevens. In the last match of the day, freshman newcomer,
Mile Cilic took one game from Joey Swaysland, giving the Pack some light. Swaysland defeated Colic by a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
In doubles action the Pack struggled. Ducks duo Farin and Amos defeated the senior duo powerhouse for the Pack, Allan and Chargui for the second time in two days, by a score of 6-2. Sunago and Poustie went up against Maasland and Sardu for the second time but were defeated, by a close score of 4-3. In the last doubles match of the day, the freshman duo O'Donovan and Margitfalvi came short again against Clissord and Stevens, by a score of 6-1.
"We had a much better fight today than we did yesterday" head coach Erik Burton said. " Mile surprised everyone by winning his first set, Moez had a remarkable finish and victory, and every court battled. I'm really proud of the guys today, we continue to battle and improve "
