RENO, Nev. - Offensive struggles led to a 62-44 Mountain West loss for the University of Nevada women's basketball team to visiting Fresno State, Saturday evening at Lawlor Events Center.

After starting the conference season 2-0, the Wolf Pack (6-11, 2-4 MW) has now dropped a season-high four straight games. The Bulldogs (15-3, 7-0 MW) on the other hand, remain perfect in league play with the win.

For the game, Nevada shot just 31.7 percent from the field and hit 1-of-10 from the three-point line. Fresno State hit five three-point shots and posted 41 percent shooting overall. The Bulldogs were led by the team's leading scorer Alex Sheedy, who notched a game-high 22 points and pulled in 11 rebounds. Of the nine players who saw time on the floor for Fresno State, only four registered points.

Fresno State has held Nevada to its two lowest point totals of the season with Saturday's 44-point outing and a season-low 43 a couple of weeks back in Fresno.

Senior Mimi Mungedi recorded another game in double figures, her 13th of the season, with a team-best 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Senior Aja Johnson and sophomore Iman Lathan each posted eight points and Johnson led the team on the boards by collecting nine rebounds.

The Pack trailed by just six, 27-21, going into halftime, a significant improvement from the last time it faced Fresno State, being down by 14 at the break. Both teams hit a lull on the offensive ends through the middle goings of the opening half. Nevada went on a 10-minute, 35-second scoring draught until the 5:26 mark of the period when junior Kelsey Kaelin hit a jump shot to pull the Pack to within eight.

Coming out of the break, Johnson laid in a bucket in the paint to bring the Pack's deficit down to four. From there, however, the Bulldogs went on an 11-2 run that increased their lead to double digits. Fresno State was able to keep pace with that cushion for the remainder of the game, not allowing Nevada to get within seven points.

Nevada was sent to the free throw line 15 times in the ballgame, but converted just five of those 15 chances into points. The battle on the glass was fairly even with the edge going to Fresno State, 43-41. Jane Albright remains seven wins shy of reaching 500 for her career.

Nevada looks to halt its four-game losing streak when it travels down to Las Vegas this Wednesday, Jan. 28 for a 7 p.m. Governor's Series game against in-state rival UNLV. The Wolf Pack defeated the Rebels 71-62 earlier in January in Reno.
