Grant Booth is in fourth heading into the final round of the Gene Miranda Invitational, hosted by Air Force. This is Booth's first tournament of his collegiate career.
Booth came out strong in the first round shooting a five-under 67 and was in second place heading into the second 18-hole round. His even-par 72 in the second round was good enough for a five-under 138, and is five strokes out of first place.
Nevada is tied for ninth with Weber State with an eight-over 584 after shooting back-to-back rounds of 292.
Senior
Nicholas Smits had a slow first round, shooting a four-over 76, but turned it around and shot a one-under 71 in the second round. He is tied for 39th with a three-over 147. Freshman
Jooho Lee is tied for 43rd with a five-over 149 after shooting a 77 and 75.
"Grant had a terrific start to his college career," said head coach Jacob Wilner. "He played 36-holes of solid golf. Our scores today were higher than we expected, but I know we are eager to bounce back tomorrow."
UNLV is in first heading into the final round with a 21-under 555. UNLV's AJ Mcinerney is in first with a 10-under 134.
The final 18-hole round will be played on Sunday.
