POSTGAME NOTES FINAL: Nevada (2-0) 24, Washington State (0-2) 13
• Nevada recorded its first victory over Washington State in program history (1-2) and improved to 2-0 on the season for the first time since 2010. Nevada also improved to 6-2 under head coach Brian Polian at Mackay Stadium.
• On a 55-yard run in the second quarter, senior QB
Cody Fajardo became the third player in program history to reach 10,000 yards of total offense in a career. He finished with 210 yards of total offense, bringing his career total to 10,178. Fajardo joins Colin Kaepernick (2007-10; 14,210) and David Neill (1998-2001; 11,145) in the Nevada 10,000 yard club.
• Nevada's defense held Washington State to its lowest point total since week two of the 2013 season. WSU went 5-of-15 on third-down, 0-of-2 on fourth-down and 3-6 in the red zone. Nevada tallied four sacks, seven tackles for loss and two interceptions on defense.
• The Wolf Pack rushed for over 200 yards on offense for the second straight game, accumulating 233 yards on the ground on 56 carries. Nevada rushed for 264 yards on 55 carries against Southern Utah in week one.
• Junior RB
Don Jackson tallied his first career multi-touchdown game, scoring rushing TDs from one and two-yards out. Jackson finished with 71 rushing yards on 22 carries. The Sacramento, Calif., native has three rushing TDs on the season.
• Freshman DB
Kendall Johnson recorded his first career interception, snagging a Connor Halliday pass on third and long and returning it 45 yards to the WSU 12-yard line. Johnson is one of five true freshmen to see action for Nevada this season. Junior SS
Duran Workman also recorded his first career interception in the second quarter. The Charleston, W.V., native has started in Nevada's first two games of the season.
• In his second collegiate game, freshman RB
James Butler scored his second touchdown of the season to give Nevada a 14-0 lead.
• Redshirt-freshman Joey Angelemire made his first career start at left tackle. Redshirt-freshman
Austin Corbett, who started against Southern Utah, played at LT in Nevada's second drive.
• Nevada sophomore LS
Tyler Wilson earned the Alpha Wolf Award in week two. His father, Ken Wilson, was on the opposite sideline as WSU's second-year linebackers coach.
