TEMPE, Ariz. - The University of Nevada women's tennis team battled against No. 28 Arizona State on Saturday, but could not come out victorious, falling by a score of 7-0.
The Wolf Pack (5-2) was facing one of the top teams in the nation in the Sun Devils (8-2), but did not get the outcome it was looking for. Nevada could only grab one doubles victory, as they were blanked in singles action. Head coach Guillaume Tonelli said he knows things will be different next time out.
"They aren't one of the top teams in the nation for no reason," he said. "It was a tough day out there, but this will just fuel the girls for our next match, our first home match of the season."
The lone victory came from the doubles pair of Michelle Okhremchuk and Sheila Morales Hidalgo, as they dropped Desirae Krawczyk and Kassidy Jump by a score of 8-4.
The Wolf Pack will be in action again on March 1, 2014 when it hosts its first home match of the season at Caughlin Athletic Club against Denver University beginning at 11 am.
