RENO, Nev. - Despite a season-high 13 kill performance from junior Sommer King, the Nevada volleyball team could not win its third-consecutive match as the Wolf Pack fell to Utah State, 3-1, on Thursday evening at the Virginia Street Gym.

The Aggies claimed the first set (25-20) before Nevada came back to claim the second (25-17). After the break, Utah State went on to take the final two frames (25-16, 25-14). Freshman Madison Foley posted seven kills and three service aces for the Pack (7-15, 4-8 MW).

After falling in the first set, 25-20, Nevada trailed again in the second before going on a 5-1 run, with kills from King and freshman Madison Foley, to take a 14-9 lead. A kill from senior Tessa Lea'ea gave the Pack its largest lead of the match, 23-13, and a kill from King, who had five in the frame, sealed the second set to tie the score at 1-1 heading into the break.

In the third frame, Nevada held Utah State to a .118 hitting percentage, including two blocks from Lea'ea, but Nevada could not produce on offense as they dropped the set, 25-16, before falling in the deciding fourth frame, 25-14.

Nevada will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 8, when the Pack takes on Boise State at 2:00 p.m.
