LARAMIE, Wyo. - In its final road match of the 2014 season, junior Sam Willoughby posted nine kills and four blocks but the Nevada volleyball team fell to Wyoming, 3-0, on Wednesday evening.

The Cowgirls completed the sweep (25-14, 25-19, 25-20) despite junior Taylar Rothfuss recording a .667 hitting percentage and two blocks for the Wolf Pack (7-19, 4-12 MW).

After dropping the first set, the Pack fell behind 5-0 early in the second frame before two kills from Willoughby sparked a 7-1 run that gave Nevada a 7-6 lead. The Cowgirls would later regain its advantage but back-to-back kills from Rothfuss and an ace from senior Donna Greely cut the Wyoming lead to five, 22-17, and forced a timeout. The Pack would only tally two more points after coming out of the huddle though as the Cowgirls claimed the set to go up 2-0 in the match.

The Pack jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third set on three Wyoming errors but the Cowgirls would fight back and take a 10-6 lead before Nevada called a timeout. Down by 11, a kill from Greely was kicked off a 9-2 run to make it a 23-19 game but it wasn't enough, Wyoming would capitalize on a Nevada error and record kill to take the set, 25-20, and the match.

The Pack will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. when Nevada takes on No. 9 Colorado State at the Virginia Street Gym. Saturday's match against the Rams will be "Fan Appreciation Night" where the first 30 fans in attendance will receive mini volleyballs.
