Grant Booth and
Corey Eddings are both tied for 10
th after the second round of the Pacific Invitational, hosted by Pacific.
Booth carded a one-under 70 and is at a two-under 140 heading into the final round. Eddings bounced back from a slow first round and fired a four-under 67 in the second round. Eddings is also tied for the most birdies in the tournament with 11, nine of which came in the second round.
Senior Nicholas Smits is also in the top-20. Smits shot a one-under 70 and is tied for 20th with a one-over 143. Junior Kit Carson is tied for 26th with a two-over 146 after shooting a one-over 72 in the second round.
Freshman Jooho Lee is tied for 53rd with a nine-over 151.
Nevada as a team jumped up four spots after shooting a five-under 279 in the second round, and is fourth with a one-under 567 for the tournament. Nevada is in first in par 4 scoring for the tournament, and has shot the most birdies with 36.
"We did exactly what we needed to do today," said head coach Jacob Wilner. "We bounced back from a poor start on day one, and posted a score that puts us right back in the tournament with a chance to win."
Senior Gustavo Chaung is competing individually and is tied for 49th with an eight-over 150. Chuang's score will not count towards Nevada's overall team score.
The Nevada golfers have played strong on the par 4 holes. Smits is tied for second, Eddings is tied for third, Booth is tied for fourth, and Carson is tied for fifth in par 4 scoring. Booth and Chuang are both tied for third in pars with 25. Carson is tied for fourth with 24 pars.
Denver leads the tournament with a five-under 563. Denver's Petter Mikalsen leads individually with a five-under 137.
The final 18-hole round will be played on Saturday.
