STOCKTON, Calif. - Freshman Grant Booth is tied for ninth after the first round of the Pacific Invitational, hosted by Pacific.



Booth carded a one-under 70 and is tied for ninth heading into the second round. Junior Kit Carson is also in the top-25 after shooting a one-over 72. Carson is tied for 24th.



Freshman Corey Eddings and senior Nicholas Smits are tied for 32nd with a two-over 73. Freshman Jooho Lee is tied for 47th with a four-over 75.



Senior Gustavo Chaung is competing individually and is tied for 54th with a six-over 77. Chuang's score will not count towards Nevada's overall team score.



Nevada is in eighth with a four-over 288, and is three strokes out from breaking the top-5. Nevada finished the first round tied for fourth in par 3 scoring, and fifth in par 4 and par 5 scoring. Nevada also shot the third-most birdies in the first round with 15.



"We just didn't quite get into a grove today," said head coach Jacob Wilner. "Luckily we have two rounds left to try and move up the leaderboard.



Washington State leads the tournament with a nine-under 275. Washington State's Charlie Mroz leads individually with a five-under 66.
