Davis, Calif. - The University of Nevada men's tennis team had a huge start to their season, by going 10-4 in singles and 2-2 in doubles.

Fernando Sunago, Ryan Andrada, Robert Margitfalvi, and Robert Allan all advance to the main draw quarterfinals. Moez Chargui defeated Stanford's Brandon Sutter, by a score of 7-5,6-2. Andrada had two huge wins over Saint Mary's Thomas Hunt, by a score of 6-3 ,6-0 and Fresno State's toughened freshman top 130 ITF world junior, Youssef Hassan, by a score of 6-0,7-6. "Ryno's (Andrada) day in singles was very impressive to start the season." head coach Erik Burton said.

Fernando Sunago had a bye in the first round, and then went on a big-time run over Cal's no. six in the lineup last season, Nikhil Jayashankar, by a score of 6-3, 7-5. "Fernando's success in singles and doubles today is evidence as to the Wolf Pack's talent and depth this year" Burton Said

Rob Allan had numerous clutch wins today, defeating Sacramento State's Kasparas Zemaitelis, by a score of 6-4,6-4, as well as defeating UC Davis' Tommy Lam, by a score of 6-7,6-4,6-2. "Rob Allan has continued to improve and his NCAA experience from last season's doubles final tournament in Athens, Georgia has helped him turn a huge corner in confidence." Burton said

Rob Margitfalvi had his first collegiate debut by defeating no. three seed Tom Miller from Sacramento State, by a score of 6-1,6-2 and a huge win over Cal's Jordan Smith, by a score of 6-3,6-3. "Our team lineup battled today in extreme heat and tough conditions, and they performed very well!

The Pack is back on court tomorrow morning at 8:30am with doubles play.
