Final Stats

LUBBOCK, Texas - The University of Nevada volleyball team fell 3-0 (18-25, 22-25, 21-25) to the Red Raiders of Texas Tech on Friday night.

The Wolf Pack fell to 1-7 with the loss, while Texas Tech evened its record at 6-6 with the win.

Nevada was again paced on offense by Sam Willoughby and Tessa Lea'ea down the middle. Willoughby ended the night with 10 kills, while Lea'ea closed the match with nine. On defense, Willoughby was strong at the net, coming up with three blocks (one solo, four assisted).

The Red Raiders did a good job of keeping the ball away from libero Kara Kasser during the first two games, but she broke out in game three with six digs and ended the contest with 12, the most of any Nevada player. The sophomore defensive specialist from a year ago has taken over libero duties during the 2013 season.

The Pack committed 24 hitting errors, giving valuable points to Texas Tech in a match that featured two very close games. Nevada's final line on offense was 30 kills on 117 attacks, 24 errors and a hitting percentage of .051.

Freshman defensive specialist Madison Thorpe saw her second action of the season after sitting out the first two weekends. She had four digs a match ago, but stepped it up on Friday night and finished the night with nine. She did not commit a receiving error.

Nevada will conclude the Lone Star Showdown with a 9:30 a.m. match against Montana on Saturday.
