RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada men's tennis team returns to the road for a two game road trip when it travels to face UC Davis on Saturday and Sacramento State on Sunday.
The Wolf Pack (6-4) is looking to get back into the win column on Saturday when it faces the UC Davis Aggies, having dropped its last contest to San Francisco. Victor Ouvrard leads the charge for the Pack with 6 victories on the year from position one, and also has notched five doubles victories. Freshman Robert Allan will return to action after his unbeaten singles streak to begin his collegiate career was stopped at nine. The Wolf Pack, and head coach Erik Burton, are itching to get back on the court to compete.
"This team is very hungry to continue the success we've had so far this year," he said. "We've had good practices all week and we will continue to raise the level of intensity as this weekend will help prepare us for Mountain West Conference play. No matter what team we come up against, I am confident that this team will battle to the end with great effort. I know we have the talent to win every match."
The Aggies sit at .500 with a record of 6-6, and are currently riding a two-match winning streak, including a sweep of Villanova. Kyle Miller is 9-3 from position two in singles, while Parker Kelley holds a 7-4 record and has won three straight from position three. In doubles, Adam Levie and Toki Sherbakov lead the way with seven victories from position one, including a 8-5 victory in their last contest against Philip Nelson and Jonathon Raude of Boston College.
The Sacramento State Hornets currently hold a record of 3-6 on the year, with wins over Fresno State and UC Davis. Marek Marksoo is the projected player in position one, currently holding a 6-3 record, with five of those wins coming from position one. Marksoo also heads the charge in doubles with partner Aliaksandr Malko, as together they are 6-2 from position one. The Hornets will compete three more times prior to facing Nevada.
