        RENO, Nev. (AP) - John Karhoff scored a season-high 25 points to lead        Nebraska Omaha to an 82-80 victory over Nevada on Saturday night.
        Karhoff hit 8 of 14 from the field and sank 9 of 12 from the line. Four other Nebraska        Omaha players were in double digits including Devin Patterson with 18 points, CJ Carter 13        and Mike Rostampour 11 plus seven rebounds. The win was the fifth straight for the        Mavericks (8-3).
        Down by nine with 6 minutes left in the second half, Nevada's Deonte        Burton hit a 3-pointer, sparking a 15-6 run to tie the game at 80 with 40 seconds left        to play.
        In the final 10 seconds, Mavericks forward Matt Hagerbaumer grabbed a rebound after a        missed Burton jumper and Carter sank a layup to break the tie for the win.
        Jerry Evans Jr. had 24 points for the Wolf Pack (4-7).

         Nevada is 4-7 after falling 82-80 at home to Omaha (8-3) today.
        
         The Wolf Pack hosts Iona at 1:05 p.m. on Dec. 22 and Long Beach State at 7:05 p.m. on Dec.        28 to close out 2013.
        
         Nevada is now 1-3 at home and 1-5 in the last six games. Omaha won its fifth game in a        row.
        
         Today's game was the fifth two-point game of the season for the Wolf Pack. The Pack is 3-2        in those five contests.
        
         Nevada and Omaha have split the two games in the series. Both were played at Nevada's        Lawlor Events Center.
        
         Deonte        Burton finished with 22 points. It's Burton's ninth game scoring 20 or more points in a        game this season. He became the fifth player in school history to score 1,700 career points        and his 1,713 points ranks fifth at Nevada. Alex Boyd (1967-90) is fourth with 1,731        points.
        
         Jerry Evans, Jr. finished with a team-high 24 points, one off his career best of 25 that        came earlier this season vs. #19 UCLA. Evans scored 19 points in the first half.
        
         Evans has three career games of 20 or more points, all coming this season in the last five        games. Six times in the last seven games he reached double figures and had eight points in        the other game. Eight times he has scored in double figures this season.
        
         Sophomore Lucas Stivrins made his first career start and had two points. Stivrins led the        Pack for the first time with a season-high six rebounds. Stivrins played a season-high 31        minutes and had his best assist night with three.
        
         Marqueze Coleman and Ronnie Stevens, Jr. did not play today. Coleman is bothered by an eye        injury and Stevens has shin splints. Both are day-to-day for the Pack's Dec. 22 game with        Iona.
        
         Junior Michael Perez finished with 17 points, one off his season-high of 18 that occurred        twice vs. #19 UCLA and at Cal. Perez had made a three-pointer in all 11 games this        season.
        
         Head coach David Carter is 78-65 in his fifth season leading the Wolf Pack and ranks ninth        in career wins. Carter is one win back of his mentor Trent Johnson's (1999-04) 79 wins for        eighth most in school history.
