RENO, Nev. -- The University of Nevada women's tennis team opens its spring season on Friday when it travels to Long Beach, Calif. for the Beach Tennis Winter Invitational.
The Wolf Pack will be in Long Beach for staggered round robin play, where they will compete against Long Beach State, Colorado, and New Mexico. On Friday, Nevada will face New Mexico in doubles while taking on Long Beach State in singles. Saturday will see Nevada face Colorado in doubles while challenging new Mexico in singles. Play will conclude on Sunday with doubles play against Long Beach State and singles action against Colorado.
Last season under the interim title, head coach Guillaume Tonelli led the Pack to a 5-12 record. Without the interim title, Tonelli looks to lead a strong squad to a conference title in the first year in the Mountain West Conference.
Leading the way for the Pack is junior Michelle Okhremchuk, as she will play out of the No. 1 slot. She earned two tournament titles at the Bulldog Classic in November, one in both singles and doubles with her partner, senior Emma Verberne.
