WAC Championships, Final Get Acrobat Reader

HENDERSON, Nev. - Nevada senior Kevin Lucas was named first-team All-WAC on Wednesday following the Western Athletic Conference Championships.

Lucas finished in a tie for 10th in the 54-hole event, which was played at Rio Secco Golf Club. He carded a 75 in the final round to lead Nevada. The low round of the day for the Wolf Pack came from Taylor Knoll, who carded a 74 and moved up to a tie for 19th place at 10-over 226. Fellow freshman Zak Griffiths (229) tied for 23rd after an 80 on Wednesday. Brian Knoll (232) shot 75 and moved up to 30th place while freshman Gustavo Chuang (252) finished with an 81.

Nevada finished sixth in the team competition. San Jose State (+12, 876) won the championship with a six-stroke margin over New Mexico State (882). Fresno State (886) was third, followed by Idaho (892), Louisiana Tech (902), Nevada (909), Hawaii (911) and Utah State (919).

San Jose State senior Jay Myers won the individual title after birding the first sudden death playoff hole to defeat New Mexico State's Justin Shin.
