RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada has reduced season ticket prices on more than 11,000 seats at Mackay Stadium for the 2012 football season, amounting to nearly 40 percent of the seats at the Wolf Pack's stadium. It will mark the first adjustments to Nevada's football season ticket prices since 2008.
All general admission season tickets at Mackay Stadium have been lowered to $85 for the 2012 season in the new pricing structure, down from $95 the previous year.
Nevada has also made nominal increases in ticket prices and seat premiums to its reserved seating sections. Premium field seats (section D) and priority field (sections C, E, J, K) have increased by $50 ($25 in the ticket price and $25 in seat premium), while field/plaza reserve (sections B, F, G, I, L and 4, 5, 6) have increased by $25 in the ticket price with no increase in the seat premium. Rows 1-13 in sections 4, 5 and 6 remain at $150 ($25 seat premium removed and ticket price increased by $25).
Season ticket prices at Mountain West schools range from $275-$925 for reserved seats and $66-$212 for general admission seats. Nevada's season tickets prices, including seat premiums where applicable, will range from $85 for general admission to $275 for premium field with price points of $150 for plaza and field reserve and $250 for priority field for the 2012 season.
All seat premiums support the Pack Educational Fund, which supports scholarships for Nevada's 420 student-athletes.
"With the Wolf Pack moving into the Mountain West Conference on July 1, 2012, we felt that some adjustments to our season ticket prices were necessary," Nevada Director of Athletics Cary Groth said. "We reviewed ticket prices at the Mountain West institutions and felt that it was important to reduce our general admission prices to give our fans an affordable and family friendly option during these tough economic times. We also increased the prices of our reserved seats by a small amount to provide us the funding necessary to remain competitive as we make this exciting move."
Renewals are being mailed to Nevada's football season ticketholders this week along with a small gift in appreciation of their support of the program.
Fans have until Monday, June 11 to return their renewals to ensure that they will keep the same seats for the 2012 football season. Fans who return their renewals prior to the deadline will be entered into a drawing for prizes, including autographed footballs by coach Chris Ault and quarterback Cody Fajardo, a game-worn football jersey and Nike polo shirts.
Any season ticketholders who do not return their renewals by that deadline could have their seats allocated to new or other season ticketholders.
Current season ticketholders have first rights to purchase their seats and make any changes or add seats to their account for the 2012 season. Those who indicate they want to make changes to their seat locations on their renewal form will be contacted in the coming weeks.
Wolf Pack football season ticketholders will also have priority to purchase single-game tickets to Nevada's Sept. 1 season opener at California as well as the opportunity to purchase additional single-game tickets to Nevada's home game with Boise State before they go on sale to the general public. Details about purchasing tickets for those games will be released later this spring.
Nevada is also currently taking orders for new season tickets. Season tickets are available in all areas of Mackay Stadium with prices ranging from $85 for general admission to $150 for reserved (some areas require an additional donation to the Pack Educational Fund).
