Final Stats
RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada men's tennis team used dominating singles play on Saturday to beat UC Davis 6-1 at Lakeridge Tennis Club, closing out the home careers of Wessim Derbel and Jordan Rozenfeld.
The victory on the final day of the regular season leveled Nevada's record at 10-10 (2-3 WAC), while UC Davis fell to 5-15 (0-1 Big West).
Derbel went 1-1 on senior day, while Rozenfeld won his singles and doubles matches to post a 2-0 record in his final match at Lakeridge.
Winning at positions 2-6, the Wolf Pack built on the 1-0 lead it had after doubles play. Fernando Sunago won his fourth consecutive match, beating Chris Aria 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4. Moez Echargui continued to play strong as well, winning his third match in a row at No. 3. He bested Hugo Verdi-Fortin 7-5, 6-0.
Quentin Mege returned to the singles courts after a week away, winning 5-7, 6-3 10-7 at six.
Nevada will compete in the WAC Tournament from Thursday-Sunday this week, in Las Cruces N.M.
