Desert Shootout Day 2 
GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Senior Kevin Lucas fired a 69 on Friday and moved up to a tie for 23rd place along with Brian Knoll to lead Nevada at the Desert Shootout.
Lucas had an opening-round 74 and moved up 25 spot with the 3-under 69 on Friday. Zak Griffiths (T39th) and Taylor Knoll (T59th) each shot 72 on Friday while Gustavo Chuang came in with a 77.
At 1 over, Nevada is 10th as a team but just eight shots out of fifth place as a number of teams are bunched up at the tournament, which is hosted by Denver at Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear.
BYU leads the team race at 28 under.
