Final Stats

RENO, Nev. - With dominating singles play, the University of Nevada men's tennis team erased an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Sacramento State 4-1 Friday at the Lakeridge Tennis Club.

Nevada improved to 5-4 (0-1 WAC), while Sacramento State fell to 2-5 (1-0 Big Sky).

Sacramento State took the doubles point with wins at the second and third positions, jumping ahead of Nevada 1-0. Determined to take its first home match, the Wolf Pack stormed back with wins at the first four singles spots.

Wessim Derbel won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1, improving to 7-2 in dual play and 17-4 overall on the year. Moez Echargui was down 5-2 in the third set before storming back to win the set 7-5 and take his match. Jordan Rozenfeld closed the match out with another comeback win, climbing out of a 4-0 hole in the third to win the set 7-6.

Victor Ouvrard won a three-set match for his seventh win of the dual season. He has the second highest win total on the Nevada team. When the match result had been decided, the two remaining singles matches were suspended.

The Pack will meet Pacific at 5 p.m. Saturday at Lakeridge to close out its first home weekend.
