RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada men's tennis team will play two matches this weekend, taking on BYU on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in Provo, Utah, and Idaho State on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Pocatello, Idaho.

Nevada is 3-3 (0-1 WAC) this year, while BYU sits at 4-5 and Idaho State is 2-6.

The Wolf Pack dropped its last contest to a No. 33 ranked Fresno State team, and will look to get back on the winning track this weekend.

BYU defeated in state rival Utah 5-2 its last time out to get to within a win of hitting the .500 mark.

Idaho State has been swept in its last two matches, dropping 7-0 decisions to Boise State and Eastern Washington.

Nevada has been led by Wessim Derbel in singles play this season. The senior from La Marsa, Tunisia, exploded out of the gate with five consecutive singles wins to begin the season. His only loss came against the Bulldogs last week, to Remi Boutillier. A 5-1 record at No. 1 singles gives Derbel a team-high winning percentage of .833.

Newcomer Moez Echargui has also had a strong Spring in singles play, going 4-2 and playing primarily out of the third singles position. Dating back to the tour season, Echargui is 8-2 in his last 10 matches.

To date, Nevada has been carried by its singles play, as the team looks to find doubles pairings that can help them improve in that aspect of the game.
