RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada men's tennis team will open the dual season this week, taking on UC Riverside Wednesday at 2 p.m. and Loyola Marymount Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

After a day off, Nevada will continue the first week of the dual season with a match against New Mexico on Saturday at 4 p.m. and a tilt against Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Sunday at 11 a.m.

The Wolf Pack had a strong Fall campaign, winning three individual titles at two different tournaments.

Wessim Derbel, who will serve as the Pack's captain for the second consecutive season, claimed a title at the Bulldog Classic. Alongside that main draw victory, Victor Ouvrard won a consolation title at the same tournament.

Derbel also made a run into the semi-finals of the ITA Regional Championships in Las Vegas. He finished the Fall with a 10-2 singles record. Closing out the pre-season in good form, newcomer Moez Echargui won a consolation title at the Pacific Northwest Invitational in Nevada's final Fall event. He is currently riding a four-match winning streak.

Playing with Ouvrard, who won 13 matches between singles and doubles play, Echargui posted seven doubles wins as well.

"These men are set to battle for every dual match this season," head coach Eric Burton said. "We are looking forward to competing for a WAC Championship."

This season will include non-conference matches against San Francisco, BYU and Idaho State.

Conference play will begin for the Pack with a contest against Fresno State on February 3 in Fresno.

Nevada's home slate will include six matches, with conference foe New Mexico State coming to Reno on April 6.
