RENO, Nev. - Four Wolf Pack standouts were selected by their teammates to serve as captains for the 2011 season, head coach Chris Ault announced Tuesday.

On the offensive side of the ball, senior wideout Rishard Matthews and junior lineman Chris Barker were selected. From the defense, senior tackle Brett Roy and linebacker James-Michael Johnson were chosen. The voting was done by the players.

This is the second season in a row that Johnson has been named a captain while Barker joins a rare group in Nevada history being elected captain as a junior.

"For James-Michael, being elected captain for the second year shows great leadership qualities and it's well-deserved," head coach Chris Ault said. "Brett is a leader by the way he plays the game and I?believe his teammates recognized that by electing him a captain. I'm excited for him.

"I think that for Barker to be voted as an underclassman says a lot about his character, on and off the field. I'm really pleased for Rishard. It's a great way to start his senior year.?He's worked hard and gained the respect of his teammates with his play," Ault said.

Nevada begins the 2011 season on?Saturday at Autzen Stadium in?Eugene,?Ore., against the Oregon Ducks.
