Men's Basketball Schedule Get Acrobat Reader

RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada announced its men's basketball schedule for the 2011-12 season today. The schedule features 17 regular season home games, a home exhibition contest, 11 road games and two games that will be played at a neutral site in Chicago.

"We have put together a challenging schedule versus some quality teams," said head coach David Carter. "With 17 home games against good competition we are very excited to play in Lawlor. Four home games in the first five is a plus after playing five of our first six on the road to start last season."

Nevada will play five of its first six games at homes starting with a Nov. 8 exhibition contest with Chico State.
The Wolf Pack begins the regular season on Nov. 11 when they host the 2011 Missouri Valley Conference champion Missouri State Bears. The Bears posted a 26-9 record last season and earned a postseason bid competing in the NIT.

Following a trip to UNLV on Nov. 14, the Pack returns home for three games in a row, hosting Pacific, Prairie View A&M and Longwood. The Prairie View A&M and Longwood contests are part of the Chicago Invitational Challenge in which Nevada will play four games. ?The final two games of the invitational will take place at Sears Centre Arena in Chicago, where the Pack will play BYU on Nov. 25 and either Bradley or Wisconsin the following day.

Pacific-12 member Washington comes to Lawlor Events Center on Dec. 2 for game that will air on ESPNU. The Huskies went 24-11 last season and advanced third round of the NCAA Tournament.

Nevada will then hit the road for a pair of games, first at Arizona State of the Pacific-12 on Dec. 7 followed by a trip to Montana of the?Big Sky Conference for a Dec. 10 contest. The Pack returns home for three games to close out 2011 calendar year versus UC?Riverside, Portland and Cedarville University.

Western Athletic Conference play begins on Jan. 5 at Idaho followed by a game at Utah State on the 7th. A four-game homestand in January features three WAC games with San Jose State, Hawai`i and Fresno State. ?The Pack will also play a nonconference tilt with Nebraska-Omaha on the 17th. Nevada ends January with road contests at New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech.

Three home games will be played in the month of February at Lawlor Events Center, with first two being a pair of conference games with Utah State and Idaho. ?The third is the final nonconference home game of the year with Cal State Bakersfield on Feb. 14. Nevada will once again participate in the ESPN BracketBusters playing a road contest at yet to be determined opponent on Feb. 18. The final road game of the regular season is Feb. 25 at Fresno State.

The Pack will host New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech in the final two regular season games, the first weekend in March. For the second consecutive year, the season-ending WAC?Tournament will be played the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Mar. 7-10.
