HONOLULU - The University of Nevada (2-11, 0-2 WAC) volleyball team was swept in a Western Athletic Conference match by #11 Hawai`i (13-1, 3-0 WAC) before 5,546 fans at the Stan Sheriff Center Thursday night. The Rainbow Wahine won by scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-14 to improve to 3-0 in WAC action and 13-1 on the season. The Wolf Pack dropped to 2-11 and 0-2 in the conference.

UH scored the first three points of the first set and never trailed in winning 25-15. The Pack hit just .114 and the Rainbow Wahine .324.

Hawai`i started the second set with a 7-3 run on the way to the 25-15 victory and 2-0 set advantage. UH improved its hitting percentage to .333 while the Pack hit negative .036.

The Rainbow Wahine again led the final set from start to finish scoring the first three points and went on to win 25-14 to take the match 3-0. Nevada posted its best hitting percentage of the match at .207 but UH was outstanding hitting .542.

Tessa Lea'ea led Nevada with seven kills while Erin Garvey, Janelle Batista and Tatiana Santiago all had six kills. Santiago dished out 16 assists and also topped Nevada with six digs.

Kanani Danielson finished with a match-high 13 kills for UH. Mita Uiato totaled 30 assists on the night.

Nevada continues its WAC road trip playing at San Jose State on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
