SAN LUIS OPBISPO, Calif. - The University of Nevada women's soccer team fell 4-1 to Cal Poly Friday.
The loss dropped the Wolf Pack to 1-7, while Cal Poly moved to 6-3.
Newcomer Madison Lorenzen scored her first career goal in the loss, tying the match at one in the 44th minute. Her goal, which was unassisted, came off a corner kick.
Three tallies from Cal Poly in the second frame put the match out of reach, including the game winner, which came two minutes into the half off a corner kick.
Nevada took 10 shots Friday, getting three on target and staying with Cal Polly for the entirety of the first half. The Pack also earned three corner kicks and committed seven fouls.
Cal Poly took 12 shots, putting eight on frame and committing three fouls.
Jenna Riddle started in goal for the Pack, playing the full 90 minutes and making four saves.
Nevada will return to action Sunday, taking on UC Santa Barbara Sunday at 1 p.m. in Santa Barbara, Calif.
