BOISE, Idaho - The All-Western Athletic Conference Tennis teams were announced Thursday evening, in Boise, Idaho, the site of the season-ending WAC Championships.
Three Wolf Pack women's student-athletes were All-WAC selections, including true Freshman Michelle Okhremchuk, sophomore Emma Verberne and senior Florence De Vrye.
Okhremchuk was selected to the first team in singles competition, as well as being named first-team All-WAC in doubles with De Vrye. The pair was 6-2 overall, including a 4-1 record at the No. 1 position.
In singles play, Okhremchuk won 19 matches, posting eight wins in the fall and 11 in dual-match play during the spring season.
De Vrye was also selected second-team All-WAC in singles play along with Verberne.
The Nevada women's tennis team advanced to the second round of the tournament and will take on No. 75 Fresno State Friday at 11 a.m.
On the men's side, Wessim Derbel was Nevada's only selection. The junior from La Marsa, Tunisia, was a second-team All-WAC honoree. He won 11 singles matches to lead Nevada in 2010-11 and played primarily out of the No. 1 position.
