LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The University of Nevada men's tennis team dropped its opening match of the weekend, losing 4-0 to No. 50 Boise State in a neutral site match Friday.

The loss moved Nevada to 5-11 (0-4 WAC), while Boise State upped their record to 14-12 (3-2 WAC).

The Broncos came out strong, taking all three doubles matches to open the contest.  Playing well with the 1-0 lead, they continued to push the tempo, winning three of the six singles matches to get the victory.

Boise State won at singles positions No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5.  The closest of the matches came at the first position, where Wessim Derbel fell 6-4, 6-3 to Andy Bettles.

Two matches that went unfinished involved tie-breakers, as Victor Ouvrard and Nathan Reix pushed their opponents to the brink in their opening sets.

Nevada will stay in Las Cruces to take on two more WAC foes, meeting No. 46 Idaho Saturday at 9 a.m. and New Mexico State Sunday at 9 a.m.
