RENO, Nev. - Three Nevada soccer players, Marie Cove, Erin Smith and Cristen Drummond, have been named to the 2010 NSCAA All-West Region Scholar Team as honorable mentions.
"All three players have shown an excellent commitment to being true student-athletes," head coach Dr. Melissa Price said. "We are proud to have them represent both the University of Nevada and the soccer program."
The National Soccer Coaches Association was formed in 1941 and is the largest organization of its kind. In addition to a national rankings program for colleges and high schools, NSCAA offers an extensive recognition program that presents nearly 10,000 individual awards every year.
Drummond, a senior midfielder at the University, made the list with a 3.81 GPA in Journalism.
Cove, a goalkeeper and Accounting and Information Systems major posted a 3.81 GPA to garner her honorable mention. She is also a senior.
Smith, a senior defender, made the list with a 3.37 GPA in Community Health Sciences.
