FRESNO, Calif. – Junior Jamie Yam resides in sixth place after the first two rounds of the Fresno State Lexus Classic held at Copper River Country Club on Monday.
Yam fired back-to-back rounds of 75 and is five shots out of the lead heading into the final round on Tuesday.
As a team, Nevada is ninth in the 16-team event hosted by Fresno State. UC Davis leads the way with a team score of 601. Nevada is at 624 and is the top Western Athletic Conference school of the three competing at the event.
Senior Lauren Hernandez, coming off medalist honors at the Pack’s last event, the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Ariz., is tied for 19th, five shots back of Yam. Louise Yi is tied for 35th. Ana Patricia de la Maza is tied for 4th and freshman Joyce Chong is tied for 53rd.
Katrina Hegge of San Francisco leads the individual race after a 1 over on Monday.
