SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The University of Nevada women's tennis team edged the Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine 4-3 in a neutral site match Saturday.

"The girls played some great tennis in a really close match against Hawai'i," head coach Sylvain Malroux said. "As a coaching staff, we were really proud of the way they fought."

The Wolf Pack was scheduled to take on San Jose State, in a true road match in San Jose, Calif., Sunday, but the WAC tilt had to be postponed due to rain.  No make-up date has been set.

Nevada improved to 4-7 with the win, including a two-match winning streak and victories in three of its last four matches.

Florence De Vrye played in her second straight match for the Pack, the first two she has played in 2011.

The match was close throughout, as three singles matches went three sets, and two doubles matches were decided by the smallest possible margin for a regulation match, two games.

Nevada went 2-0 in those matches to secure the doubles point, and got a key win in a three-set singles match from Aodhnait Lombard at the No. 4 position.

The Pack will take on Northern Arizona in Reno, March 26, in its next match.
