KANEOHE, Hawaii – With five ranked teams in the 19-team field, the Nevada women’s golf team heads into Tuesday’s final round in fourth place at the Donnie Thompson Invitational hosted by Hawaii.
The Wolf Pack fired rounds of 301 and 304 at the Kaneohe Klipper course and enters Tuesday’s final round just five shots behind third-place and sixth-ranked Arizona.
Senior Lauren Hernandez continued her strong play as of late with a 72 in the first round and a 77 in round two on Monday and she is tied for eighth individually. Hernandez leads a strong Pack performance as all five Nevada golfers are in the top 50 of the 108-player field heading into the final round.
Louise Yi shot a pair of 76s on Monday and is tied for 16th. Ana Patricia de la Maza and Joyce Chong are tied for 33rd, just two shots back of Yi. Jamie Yam is tied for 47th as she fought back from a first-round 82 with a 74 in round two.
No. 10 Arizona State leads the team race at 586. No. 21 Notre Dame is five shots back of the Sun Devels at 591. Arizona is at 600 and Nevada is at 605, five shots ahead of No. 12 Vanderbilt.
