SAN DIEGO – Junior Kevin Lucas is tied for fourth after the first two rounds at the San Diego Intercollegiate on Monday at the San Diego Country Club.
Lucas fired back-to-back even-par 72s on Monday and is part of a group of four players tied for fourth, five shots off the lead at the tournament hosted by the University of San Diego.
As a team, Nevada is eighth with one round to play. The Wolf Pack put up a 377 in the first round and a 388 in round two. Nevada is five shots back of seventh place and nine out of sixth as a team.
Gavin Kwon had an even-par 72 in round one and then fell back with an 80 in round two. He is tied for 35th heading into the final round. Senior Scott Smith is tied for 39th after a 75 and a 78. Andrew Augustyniak is tied for 52nd with Chris Cho tied for 56th and Brian Knoll tied for 71st.
The 12 teams will play the final round on Tuesday at the 7,033-yard course.
